Watch Out for the Curve - Curves Rock Fashion Show Recap

Wetzler Taylor Designs

Innovative. Stylish. Fierce.

Just a few words I would use to describe Curves Rock Weekend 2016. The main event was Saturday's fashion show but no doubt this was definitely a Curves Rock Fashion Weekend. The weekend started Thursday night, with a Curves Rock kick off & Karaoke at the Horseshoe Casino and continued with a Curves & Cufflinks mixer and runway competition on Friday night, hosted by Ashley Stewart, an all day healthy curves and fashion expo Saturday, an empowerment and awards brunch, followed by Saturday night's fierce fashion. If you're like me and eat the dessert first, scroll down to see faves from the runway show.

As I walked into the room, for Saturday's fashion show, you could feel the excitement. Fashionably decorated chairs, yes, even the chair SLAYED, with YES!! goodie grab bags, that were to die for and great mood lighting.

Oh! And once the lights went out the real action began. The models selected for this year's fashion show were beautifully curvaceous, each model unique in her own way. The designers showcased pieces that celebrated every inch of their curves. Every song carefully selected as if it was the models' theme song.

As a first-year attendee I was already in tip toe anticipation. I had seen previous videos and was desperate to see how they would top last year's performance. From beginning to end the fashion had me speechless. The show ended with a fabulous display of couture garments. However what stuck out to me was how inclusive Curves Rock was, even having a young lady, from Ronald McDonald, house who had significant brain damage, walk in her very own segment and let me tell you, she walked with confidence and grace. This fashion show was more than fashion. This show bought together women of every size, shape, color and ability with one common goal in mind.....Unity. Don't believe me, just watch!
